About Cassidine Consulting

Helping organizations navigate The Messy Middle.

Organizations don’t enter The Messy Middle because they’ve failed. They enter it because they’ve grown — and growth changes what an organization requires.

Why we exist

The Messy Middle is what the gap feels like.

As organizations grow, the demands on leadership, people, systems, incentives, processes, culture, and structure change with them — but the organizational design that supported one stage doesn’t automatically evolve to support the next. As Theory and Reality drift apart, organizations experience the Theory–Reality Gap. That’s why Cassidine Consulting exists: to help leadership teams understand, evaluate, and intentionally close that gap, so their organizations keep delivering on their strategic intentions.

The Theory–Reality Gap

We believe organizations produce exactly what they’re designed to produce.

Every organization has a strategic intention, and builds organizational infrastructure to deliver it. As it grows, that infrastructure doesn’t automatically evolve — and Theory and Reality drift apart. Drag to see it widen.

Theory

Strategic intention

The value you mean to create, the customers you serve, and the capabilities you believe will get you there.

The Gap
Reality

Organizational infrastructure

The people, systems, incentives, processes, culture, and structure actually in place today.

Drag to widen the gap  ↔  DRIFTING

Priorities start to compete and accountability blurs at the edges.
It changes the conversation

Stop asking people to work harder.

Understanding the gap moves the question from the people to the design of the organization itself.

×The old question

Why aren’t our people working hard enough?

The real question

Has the organization evolved to consistently deliver on its strategic intention?

How we help

Every organization experiences the gap differently.

So every engagement begins by understanding your strategic intention, where the organization is today, and where leadership intends to take it next. From there, we partner with leadership to intentionally evolve the organization so it has the capacity to consistently deliver on that intention.
